MERIT SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS Saint Monica Catholic High School will offer five academic scholarships of $8,000* each, payable over four years. Any eighth-grade student taking the entrance exam on the first administration 1/26/08 at SMCHS who successfully completes the admissions process is automatically considered for the academic scholarship. Awards will first be based on the highest scores on the entrance exam taken on site at the initial administration. In the case of a tie, the Admissions Committee will evaluate 7th and 8th grade academic achievement and coursework in order to determine the five awardees.
LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS Saint Monica Catholic High School will offer five leadership scholarships of $8,000* each, payable over four years. Applicants must submit the completed application with one letter of recommendation from a supervisor who can attest to the contributions and demonstrated leadership of the candidate. To be considered, applicants must complete the entrance examination at SMCHS on 1/26/08 and submit all required scholarship information by 2/1/08. The Admissions Committee will determine the recipients who will be notified by mail beginning on 3/7/08.
Leadership Scholarship Application JASON MATTHEWS SCHOLARSHIP SMCHS will award one Jason Matthews Scholarship of $10,000, payable over four years. The initial award offered is $2,500 and is renewable each year the returning student qualifies by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.7 and participates in a major activity or leadership position at Saint Monica Catholic High School. Applicants should have demonstrated excellence in their studies and made significant contributions to their school and/or community. Applicants must also demonstrate moderate to high financial need. To be considered, applicants must complete the entrance examination at SMCHS on 1/26/08. Application packet must be received by 2/1/08. The Admissions Committee will determine the recipients, who will be notified by mail beginning on 3/7/08. |
