Honoring the Donors
Reception honors major donors; 'Bring one more donor each,' Msgr. challenges them.
On Thursday, June 10, the St. Monica Capital Campaign honored donors of leadership gifts, at an appreciation reception.
The fete was held at the beautiful home of Dr. Lynn Kurata, a campaign donor, in Santa Monica. The Campaign is grateful for her generosity in opening her home for this beautiful party. More than 100 people attended.
At the event, Msgr. Lloyd Torgerson, pastor, St. Monica Catholic Community, spoke simply and gratefully to the gathered group.
"We sincerely thank each and every one of you," Msgr. Torgerson told them. "We've raised more than $17 million, and we're proud of that. It's because of the great people who believe in St. Monica.
"If everyone here tonight asked just one other person to be a part of the Campaign, we would be finished fundraising," he continued. "And that's my challenge to you – invite one more person to join us."
